1) Card in Wallet Prediction
The magician lets a spectator pick a card from the pack. Then, the magician takes a card out of his or her wallet and it matches the card chosen by the spectator
The Secret:
1. First, you need two of the same card (they don't need to be from the same type of deck). Let's say it is the queen of diamonds.
2. Take one of the queens and put it in a wallet. Put either double stick tape or a loop of tape on the bottom of the wallet, and put the wallet in your pocket.
3. Take the other queen and put it on top of the deck you want to use.
4. Now you are ready to do the trick.
5. Take out the wallet and tell the spectator that there is a prediction of some sort inside (make sure the spectator does not see the tape).
6. Tell a spectator to pick a card and not to look at it.
7. Take the card and put it on top of the deck.
8. Now, start to talk about telepathy & magic and casually put the wallet over the deck of cards. When the wallet is removed, the card the spectator selected is on the bottom of the wallet, and the queen of diamonds is now on the top of the deck.
9. Put the queen of diamonds on the table and flip it over.
10. Slowly open the wallet to build up the suspense and finally reveal the card matches. That person just may look at you differently the next time you see him or her.
2) Magic Card Jump
The magician lets the spectator pick up a card. Then the deck is shuffled by the spectator. After that, the magician says the card will be reversed in the deck and it is really not. The magician then pulls the card out of his pocket.
The Secret
- Before you start the trick you need to get two cards that are same.
- Put one of the two identical cards in your pocket and the other on the top of the deck.
- You can now start the trick.
- Divide the deck into 4 pies keeping in mind which pile the top card is in.
- Ask the spectator to pick 2 piles. If one of the chosen piles has the identical card on top, put the piles that were not chosen to the side. If both of the chosen piles do not have the identical card on top, put the chosen piles to the side.
- One of the two remaining piles should now have the identical card on top. Have the spectator choose a pile and discard one of the piles by the same manner as before.
- Give the spectator the top card and put the deck back together. Have the spectator put the card back in the deck & again shuffle it. Say the card is reversed in the deck, and when it is not found to be reversed, take the card out of your pocket and say,” sometimes it jumps to far." !
3) Reds and Blacks
Separate the deck into two decks by color: one black deck, one red deck. Put the "mini" decks back together (but don't shuffle them).
The Secret:
Separate the decks and lay them face down on a flat surface in front of your audience. Have a person from the audience choose 1 card from each pile at random, memorize them, and then place each card into the opposite pile it was selected from.
Have him/her shuffle each deck separately...then place the two decks back together.
Now you can look through the deck and find the 2 cards that don't match the color of the cards that surround them. Easy!
Notes: Practice this trick before performing. It's easy to get confused on how a card trick works just from reading about it. Having a deck of cards in your hands as you try and learn the tricks on this page will make it much easy to learn, understand and then master.
